We share the tools you need, a step by step approach to develop YOUR strategic plan. Laying the foundation so that you can transfer to a university that fits YOU.
Community colleges offer students a chance to taste college close to home, with the possibility of taking courses part-time or moving easily from part time to full time and back. Students who go to community colleges tend to take out fewer loans, even when one controls for the lower tuition.
Six University of California (UC) campuses offer the Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program for California community college students who meet specific requirements.
If you’ve decided on a major but want to keep your UC campus options open, consider completing a UC Transfer Pathway – a single set of courses you can take to prepare for your major on any of our nine undergraduate campuses. Not only will you have clear guidance on what courses you need to take, but you’ll have a competitive edge to get into any UC campus and be well positioned to succeed once you get there.
Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT) — sometimes called a Degree with a Guarantee — students who meet the CSU’s minimum eligibility requirements are guaranteed priority admission to a CSU campus, though not necessarily to a particular campus or major. With an ADT you will be able to earn two degrees — your associate’s degree and your bachelor’s degree — with only 120 units if you transfer into a program at the CSU that’s similar to the one in which you earned your associate’s at a California Community College.
